African Salad is a photographic trek to find
the real South African flavour. It has very little to do with
salads. Over a period of one-and-a-half years, 120 South African
families opened their doors to photographer Stan Engelbrecht.
The result is an astoundingly honest portrait of family life
and the food that South Africans come home to – handwritten
family recipes stand alongside tin-can specials, morogo
or biltong. African Salad is a record of an extensive
journey across the dusty platteland and sprawling townships
of South Africa, exploring the real lives of a nation of raconteurs,
eccentrics and everyday people.
Sharon Glass'“Delicious” series
Sharon Glass’ series of highly successful cook books –
her first self-published cookbook "Simply Delicious"
was released in 2000 and achieved international acclaim. The
first print run sold out within six months and over 20 000 copies
have been sold to date. It was also published in the USA under
the name of "Simply Delectable" in 2002.
Sharon's second and equally fantastic book "Simply Too
Delicious", has been available since August 2002 and to
date has sold over 18 000 copies. With amazing photography,
this book complemented the first to make Sharon Glass' cookbook
collection one not to be missed.
"Absolutely Delicious", the third and final book in
the "Delicious" series was released in 2005. The photography
throughout the book is so sumptuous, it tempts the reader to
reach out and taste.
